Directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, who earlier made a short comedy film 99, coming up with their second venture Shor in the City, produced by Ekta Kapoor on Balaji Films banner. This film has a huge star cast. Tusshar Kapoor, Nikhil Dwivedi, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Sundeep Kishan, Pitobash, Radhika Apte and Preeti Desai. Let’s see how this movie goes.
Story: NRI Abhay (Sendhil Ramamurthy) returns to India to start a business, in a short time he falls in love with a model Sharmili (Preeti Desai). Sawan (Sundeep Kishan) an aspiring cricketer, wants to get into state level team to earn big money. Tilak (Tusshar Kapoor) a local goon, who wants to earn big money by stealing something. Ramesh (Nikhil Dwivedi), Mandook (Pritobas) are friends of Tilak.
The movie turns when Tilak and his gang finds guns and bombs in a bag theft by them in a train. They plan to sell them for a huge amount and later plans for bank robbery. How these all characters connected with each other, will they succeed in their lives, rest forms the story.
Performances: Tusshar Kapoor suited his role and did a good job, Nikhil Dwivedi got a good role to prove his abilities, he made his presence felt on the screen. The show stealer was Pritobash, he was excellent in his role, and every time he comes on screen he makes us laugh. Sundeep Kishan did his role convincingly and he got an impressive debut. Sendhil Ramamurthy had nothing more to do in this film, he carried same looks and expressions in the film. Preeti Desai, Radhika Apte, and Girija Oak are Ok.
The beauty of the film essentially lies in its smartly handled climax. Abhay seeks vengeance, Tilak gains redemption, Sawan gets fortunate, Ramesh's life shifts tracks and the baddies get a taste of their own medicine. Set on the backdrop of the 11-day Ganesh Chathurti festival, the title ( Shor in the City ) smartly symbolizes that the excessive external festivities noise is much ado about nothing as compared to the hollow inner sentiments.
Cinematography was good, Sachin Jigar's music was impressive and Ashmith Kunder's editing was good. The movie has both ups and downs. The characters connection was not so impressive not utilised well. The climax and concept was good. On a whole I’m going with 3 out of 5.
Bottom Line: Just for Time Pass
